
Jinali Shah
Jinali is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience building and nurturing connections with community-based nonprofit organizations across South Asia. Her work has primarily focused on empowering marginalized groups, including informal sector workers, trade workers, and women workers, through impactful programs and initiatives.
Jinali has served as a Program Administrator for renowned nonprofit organizations such as the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) and the Industree Foundation. At SEWA, a pioneering trade union and cooperative movement representing over 3.2 million women workers in the informal sector, Jinali played a key role in advocating for the rights, dignity, and empowerment of women.
Her notable work with SEWA includes her role as Project Administrator for SABAH (South Asian Business Association of Home-Based Workers). This initiative, spanning South Asian countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka was aimed at strengthening the livelihoods of marginalized home-based workers. Jinali was instrumental in establishing a social-business organization under the project, designing tools to monitor and evaluate its outcomes, impacts, and growth in improving the lives of women workers.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Gujarat, India, specializing in Accounting, Jinali brings a strong foundation in financial management, process analysis, systems thinking, and business planning. She has extensive experience in budgeting and strategic planning, particularly in projects tailored to diverse South Asian contexts.
